The Rebirth

Behold! The show that started it all! And if you ask me it's still the best...but that could just be because I'm a sentimental twit. Whatever the case, here I am, reviewing the series I love best, slowly but surely... The episodes that I've reviewed so far have one of my little official button graphics in the frame to the left. Click any one and read your little eyeballs out.

But before you go off to slog through my wonderful "little" guide, you might want to check out this little "prime"r (Hah hah!) first, so that there are no surprises on your part...

The information for each Generation One episode is broken down thusly:

...In a Nutshell
This is the part where I try to cram everything that happens in the episode into one or two pithy and hopefully somewhat amusing sentences. I'm not known for brevity, so you tell me if I succeed...
More Than...You Want to Know
This is the part where I basically retell the episode in descriptive and occasionally amusing prose form rather than in script form. Beware, for they can be rather long, especially with the multi-parters. Beware of my feeble attempts at humor throughout, as well. And...well, I can't imagine that there's a Transfan alive who hasn't seen or at least heard about all of these episodes...but I could be wrong in that assumption. So just in case, I'll pop a spoiler alert in here, and I'll warn you again before this part in the actual reviews.
Nightwind's Unsolicited Opinions
This is the part that by all rights should contain a "textbook" review of the episode in question. But for the most part, it doesn't. I got bored of doing that very quickly. So, instead, what this section evolved into was a general musing section. Oftentimes, even a "technically" bad episode (one which is full of plot holes big enough to eat the galaxy, for instance) can make me think about other stuff. Stuff that goes beyond what you see on the screen. So sometimes you will find me either praising or ripping apart the structure of an episode here, but more often you'll find me waxing philosophical or, occasionally, rhapsodic. This is why the title of the section, originally "Nightwind's Review," became "Nightwind's Unsolicited Opinions." Don't say I didn't warn you...
Great Moments
Even the worst episode has some good bits in it...I think...
Well, in any event, I'll find something... It could be a funny line, a bit of continuity (Though that doesn't often happen in G1, except in Season 3), a nice theme, or whatever else strikes my fancy...
Appearance List!
Since the G1 universe is really, really big and packed with an absolutely insane number of barely-used characters, I decided to be really crazy and make a note of all of the characters who have speaking lines in each episode. This means that the list doesn't include those characters who are just standing around in the background, looking cool but saying nothing. (You know, like Skywarp and Thundercracker usually do.) It'll only list those characters who actually talk in the episode. I'll list the characters in order of appearance and highlight in this lovely blue those characters that I consider to be the "featured" characters for the episode in question.
Totally Arbitrary Overall Rating, Just For the Heck of It
This is the part where I assign the episode a rating on a scale of 1 to 10. Since it's all my opinion, it's all totally subjective and often arbitrary as well, but it gives you an idea of what I like in an episode. What you like may be a completely different story, however...
